# Trendyol ads: how to advertise on Trendyol profitably

> You advertise on Trendyol through the Ads Management section of the seller panel, and product ads are the best place to start. Advertise products that already sell organically and leave settings alone for a week. To stay profitable, calculate break-even ROAS from your margin after commission, shipping and cost of goods: break-even ROAS = 1 / profit margin.

## How do you advertise on Trendyol?

You advertise on Trendyol from the Ads Management (Reklam Yönetimi) section of the seller panel. The options are product ads, store ads, influencer ads and Meta ads that run on Trendyol's catalog. Most brands should start with product ads. The setup is easy; the hard part is knowing which ROAS is actually profitable once commission and shipping are taken out.

That second part is where sellers lose money. A ROAS that looks healthy in the panel can turn into a loss after Trendyol's commission, shipping and cost of goods. We walk through that calculation with a worked example below.

## What ad types does Trendyol offer?

Four ad types matter for most sellers. Names and minimum budgets in the panel change from time to time, so check the current options in Ads Management before you build a campaign.

| Ad type | Where it shows | When it makes sense | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product ads | Search results and category listings | Speeding up a product that already sells | Won't rescue a weak price or poor reviews |
| Store ads | Brand placements in the mobile app | Promoting a range or the brand as a whole | Hard to tie directly to sales |
| Influencer ads | Posts by creators in Trendyol's network | Launches and awareness | Results depend heavily on the creator |
| Meta collaborative ads | Facebook and Instagram | Sending outside traffic to your Trendyol listings | The customer and the data stay with Trendyol |

The last row needs a word of explanation. According to Meta's documentation on Collaborative Ads (formerly CPAS), the retailer shares a segment of its catalog with the brand. The brand runs catalog ads on Meta with that segment, clicks go to the retailer's site, and the brand sees sales and ROAS for its own products. In practice, your Instagram ad sends shoppers to Trendyol.

## How do you set up a Trendyol product ad?

Product ads give you the fastest feedback. The setup runs in this order:

1. In the seller panel, open Ads Management and create a new product ad.
2. Name the campaign and set the start and end dates.
3. Pick a budget type: a daily budget that spends the same amount each day, or a total budget for the whole campaign.
4. Choose the products. This is the step that decides the outcome.
5. Launch, and leave the settings alone for the first seven days.
6. After day seven, check ROAS per product. Drop products below break-even and move budget to the ones above it.

On product choice we have a firm view: start with products that already sell organically. A product with strong reviews, deep stock and a competitive price turns extra impressions into orders. Trying to revive a product that never sells is usually an expensive experiment. The problem is rarely visibility. It's the price, the images or the reviews.

## What ROAS is profitable on Trendyol?

A profitable ROAS on Trendyol depends on the margin left after cost of goods, Trendyol's commission, shipping and other fees. The formula is simple: break-even ROAS = 1 / pre-ad profit margin. With a 30% pre-ad margin, break-even ROAS is 3.33. Anything below that loses money, even though it generates sales.

A product that makes a 50% margin on your own site can drop to 25 or 30% on Trendyol once commission and shipping come out. So a ROAS that works on Meta can lose money on Trendyol. Here's an example (example only; commission rates vary by category, and VAT is left out for simplicity):

A product sells for 1,000 TL. Cost of goods is 400 TL, Trendyol's commission at 20% is 200 TL, shipping is 60 TL and other fees are 40 TL. That leaves 300 TL, or 30%, before advertising. For every 100 TL of ad spend:

| ROAS in the panel | Revenue from ads | Pre-ad profit (30%) | Net after 100 TL ad spend |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 | 250 TL | 75 TL | 25 TL loss |
| 3.33 | 333 TL | 100 TL | Break-even |
| 5 | 500 TL | 150 TL | 50 TL profit |

Amazon Ads explains the same logic with ACoS, ad spend as a share of sales. Your break-even ACoS equals your profit margin, which is 30% in the example above. Our [break-even ROAS guide](/en/blog/break-even-roas-calculator-target-roas) shows how to work out margin product by product.

One more caution. Some of the sales the panel credits to ads would have happened anyway, especially for products already ranking well organically. If you're unsure, pause ads on one best seller for a week and compare total sales with the week before. That gives you a more honest answer than the panel's ROAS.

## How much should you budget for Trendyol ads?

Your first budget should be the smallest amount that produces enough data to decide. If each product gets only a couple of clicks a day, two weeks later you'll have nothing to read.

An example test plan: pick your five best-selling products, give each 100 TL a day and run for 14 days. The test costs 7,000 TL. Products above break-even ROAS at the end earn more budget; the rest come out. Competition and costs shift during big sales events such as Efsane Kasım, Trendyol's November sale, so run the test before that period, not during it.

## Do Trendyol ads actually work?

With the right product and an honest margin calculation, yes. You show up to shoppers with high purchase intent at the moment they search. A few positions at the top of search results can be the fastest way to catch a competitor who outranks you organically.

The downside deserves equal weight. A customer won through Trendyol ads stays Trendyol's customer. You don't get their email, you can't retarget them on your own terms, and the second order still pays commission. That's why we recommend balancing marketplace ads with your own store rather than making them your only growth lever. We cover how to strike that balance in [marketplace or your own store](/en/blog/marketplace-vs-own-online-store).

### Which mistakes waste Trendyol ad budget?

The mistake we see most is reading ROAS without commission. A ROAS of 4 feels comfortable, but on a 25% margin product that's exactly break-even and the entire profit goes to ads. The second is advertising products that are about to run out: the campaign stops just as sales pick up, and everything it learned is lost. The third is impatience. A campaign switched off after two days eats the budget without teaching you anything.

If you advertise on Trendyol and can't see your real profit, the Performetic team can build product-level margin and break-even ROAS numbers with you, putting your marketplace and your own store side by side. [Ask for a free growth analysis](/en/contact).

## Key takeaways

- Trendyol ads are set up in the seller panel's Ads Management section; product ads are the best starting point for most brands.
- Advertise products that already sell organically, with strong reviews and deep stock.
- Break-even ROAS = 1 / pre-ad profit margin. ROAS read without commission and shipping is misleading.
- Leave settings alone for seven days and collect at least two weeks of product-level data before deciding.
- Customers won on Trendyol stay on the platform, so balance marketplace ads with your own store.

## FAQ

### How much budget do you need to start Trendyol ads?

Start with the smallest budget that gets each product enough clicks to judge. Example plan: give your five best sellers 100 TL a day each for 14 days, which comes to 7,000 TL. Check the current minimum budget shown in the seller panel's Ads Management section before launching, since it can change.

### What is a good ROAS for Trendyol ads?

There's no single number. A good ROAS is one above your break-even ROAS, which is 1 divided by your pre-ad profit margin. If your margin after cost of goods, Trendyol commission and shipping is 30%, break-even is 3.33; at 20% it's 5. Any ROAS below that loses money.

### Are Trendyol ads or Meta ads more profitable?

It depends on the product and the margin. Trendyol ads reach shoppers with strong purchase intent, but commission cuts your margin and the customer stays on the platform. Meta ads that send traffic to your own store keep the customer data and let repeat orders come in without commission. Compare both in the same profit table.

### Can Trendyol ads sell a product that isn't selling?

Usually not. Ads buy visibility, but if a product isn't selling because of price, images or reviews, extra impressions won't turn into orders. Put ad budget behind products that already sell organically with strong reviews and deep stock, and fix price, images and description on the products that don't.
